Toggle ItemWill my associate's degree transfer?
Associate's degrees (AAS, AGS, AS, AA, ALS) from accredited colleges and universities will be accepted to complete GE requirements, with the additional course work of Advanced Writing English 315.
Starting fall 2016: For any student transferring in credit without an associate's degree listed above, credits will be reviewed course by course to grant equivalencies or substitutions. Total credits transferred will also be considered.

In keeping with its mission to educate as many students as possible, BYU–Hawaii does not admit students for a second bachelor's degree.

Toggle ItemTransfer Evaluation Process
About a month after decisions go out for each semester, our Transfer Evaluation Team begins processing the transcripts that have been sent to us by applicants that reported transfer credits.
It takes our team 2-3 weeks to process all of the transcripts and post them to the BYUH Student Center.
All admits with transfer credit will receive an email containing a Transfer Evaluation Report once an evaluation has been complete.

Pathway Connect Transferable Credits

The following courses offered through the Pathway Connect program are transferable to BYU–Hawaii if a grade of C- or higher is obtained:
Pathway Connect Curriculum Prior to April 2019
GS 120/120L LIFE SKILLS* – 3 CREDITS (BYUH equivalent course: 100TC General Elective Credit)
GS 120 teaches basic life skills that can lead to success in both personal life and academic studies. The three main areas of study are: learning to learn, self-sufficiency, and disciple leadership. The topics studied include study skills, career, and academic planning, provident living, budgeting, goal-setting, time management, learning to lead by teaching others, and blessing others with what is learned.
ENG 106/106L BASIC WRITING* – 3 CREDITS (BYUH equivalent course: 100TC General Elective Credit)
ENG 106 teaches basic writing conventions. Topics in this course include: understanding the writing process; writing effective sentences, paragraphs, and short essays; patterns of organization; rhetorical modes and purposes; audience analysis; the composing process; and editing.
MATH 100G/100L INTRO TO ALGEBRA AND FINANCE* – 3 CREDITS (BYUH equivalent course: 100TC General Elective Credit)
MATH 100G is designed to help students recap, learn, and retain the fundamentals of basic mathematics and algebra. Students will gain competency in entry-level college math skills; use Excel spreadsheet software to perform mathematical and financial computations; apply math skills to financial decisions such as loan payments, savings, and budgeting; and discuss provident living topics (e.g., self-reliance, stewardship, and personal finance).
RELIGION courses – 2 CREDITS
All religion courses taken through BYU-Pathway Worldwide will be accepted as the equivalent religious course offered at BYUH for two credits.
*These courses will be accepted for three credits, even if the transcript shows five credits.
Pathway Connect Curriculum After April 2019
PC 101/ L - Life Skills – 3 CREDITS (BYUH equivalent course: 100TC General Elective Credit)
This 14-week course helps students discover how to use education to reach their goals by providing them with specific skills, including communication, problem-solving, and time and financial management. Throughout the course, students engage in writing and math activities that are designed to reinforce what they are learning each week.
PC 102/L - Professional Skills -3 CREDITS (BYUH equivalent course: 100TC General Elective Credit)
This 14-week course invites students to develop their personal strengths and abilities in order to add value to their homes, workplaces, and communities. Activities invite students to chart their professional and academic path, communicate in job finding and professional situations, strengthen relationships, collaborate, manage conflict, and lead from anywhere through influence.
PC 103/L - University Skills – 1 CREDITS (BYUH equivalent course: 100TC General Elective Credit)
This 14-week course invites learners to discover and strengthen the skills they need for continued success as they pursue certificates and degrees. Students practice using online tools and learn how to balance the demands of their home and work lives with the demands of online courses. Students also receive guidance and support as they apply for admission to and make a graduation plan for the online certificate and degree programs, offered in partnership with BYU-Idaho.

We accept "P" grades from all CES institutions.
We will accept "P" grades from all other accredited institutions during the 2020 calendar year only due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

If a class you completed with a C- or better from an accredited institution does not show up on the matrix, it will be accepted as elective credits. Students who would like to propose a class equivalent must contact their academic advisor.
