Mission Deferment (Incoming or New Students)
Students who have not attended or earned credits and wish to defer their admittance to serve a mission will need to complete a mission deferment. Admissions manages the listing of deferred students on a mission.
Deferring Your Enrollment for a Mission
Once admitted, you will receive an email titled "BYU–Hawaii Intent to Enroll" (ITE) with instructions to confirm your acceptance.
How to Defer Your Enrollment:
Visit: Intent To Enroll or email mission_deferment@byuh.edu
How to Defer Your Enrollment:
- Open the ITE email and select "Defer".
- Provide the required missionary information.
- Click "Submit" to finalize your mission deferment.
- You will receive a confirmation email once your deferment request is officially processed.
- The deadline to submit your mission deferment is the last day of the semester in which you were admitted.
- Requests submitted after this deadline will not be valid.
- Complete the Cancellation of Admittance form AND the Mission Deferment form.
- Once submitted, you will receive a confirmation email verifying your deferment.
